BLU-RAY PLAYER/BURNER COMPATIBILITY?

I have a bog standard Packard Bell desktop computer running Windows XP. I bought an external USB Blu-Ray player/burner. It will play DVDs, but not Blu-Ray. When I put a Blu-Ray disc in and try to run it is tells me that either the disc is corrupt (it isn't) or it is running on an incompatible system. Any geeks out there want a quick ten points - just tell me what I have to do next!

Plants with extremely shallow roots that grow in shade?

I have a townhome with a fenced-in patio/garden area that I moved into last fall. The garden was basically a bunch of weeds (I don't think the previous owner did anything), except for one area what was only dirt. The area is in full shade due to being in a south-facing corner and under the tree in my garden. I set out to beautify the area with some plants that grow in shade. But when I began digging, I hit concrete. I soon discovered that area (about 4x3 ft) is an old sidewalk from when the building was constructed in the 40s and is only about 2-3 inches below the level of the newer patio, and because of that was silted in with dirt but too shallow for plants to take root. I live in Indiana, byu the way, so all seasons are experienced. I thought about filling the area with river stones and making a small rock garden, but figure the rocks would soon be filled in with dirt through a year of rain (not to mention how to remove the leaves and seed pods that fall from the tree above it). My question: Are there any plants (perhaps are ground ivy or other ground cover) that will survive and thrive under such shallow, low light conditions in my climate? Or does anyone have suggestions on what to do with the area?

yes it should fix all system files. Dont partition the hard drive during the install or you will lose all your data but it can reinstall without affecting data if you do it right. Thats the beauty of Mac. Windows users lose everything each time they reinstall.

I have a Mercruiser 260/v8 with thunderbolt ignition. It bogs at 2000rpm?

When in nuturel it runs fine at any RPM, on the water it bogs at 2000RPM to the point it almost sounds like it will shut down, It idles fine at 700-900rpm and up to 2000rpm's runs fine. This just happened over past few days. Seems to have happened after I washed down the bildge after the tilt trimp pump was replaced due to leak, not sure is this could have done anything, but. I'm a girl and 3 years ago I had this girlfriend... I had feelings for her even she was a girl... I mistook her skinship as love... She was hugging and kissing me all the time... I need to make up a pre-calculus credit and I need it over the summer. Is it possible to go through it through the BYU Independent Study over the summer? Or is there a different website that offers it over the summer for both semesters for credit on a high school transcript? Also, is the BYU Independent Study for Pre-Calculus fairly easy and be done right before summer ends? Running better with the choke on indicates that it is not getting enough fuel either from the tank to the carbs or from the carbs to the engine. Be sure that the float level is set correctly. That's one thing you didn't mention.

Is taking Chemistry 1 online hard? Can you use notes on the final of the Independent Study BYU exam?

Funny I'm trying to graduate this school too and how I'm doing that is BYU independent. I'm currently taking Chemistry 1 part one and nearly finished. You have to only take 10 speedbacks and those aren't that hard if you take the time to learn the material. The material overall isn't that complex and the speedbacks are only around 30 questions each. I have yet to take the final but it is only like 60 questions but I don't think you can have notes on that exam.

ok. kind of a long story but i am so jealous of my mother inlaw. she does EVERYTHING for my daughter to the point i may aswell be just the person that provides for her and his mother gets all the fun. its caused so much trouble that i don't like my partners mum no more and to but it frank i see her as an over baring cow. i think my issues with her are not relevant to my question as she does spoil her too much and buys her things that is totally out of my range. HI- I'm a 17 year old guy doing my A levels at high school. Doiong 5 AS(yr 12) levels at mo and planning to do 3.5 A-levels (yr 13). Expected to get roughly A,B,B in my A levels. Why did my dirt bike shut off?

hi i have a 1980 honda xr80 4 stroke and today i was riding around a i took it threw a ditch with a about a 1/2 foot of water and as i was climbing out of the ditch my bike bogged right out and shut off. so i went to start it again and it wouldnt for about 20 minutes. i did a oil change about a week ago and there is not water in my moter i checked and my air filter is clean and i had it about 3/4 throttle. its probably nothing but im just wondering if i need to be worried.

Is recruiting overrated in college basketball?

Players like Derrick Williams of Arizona and Jimmer Fredette of BYU were not heavily recruited players and both went on to have success at the college level. Then you look at schools like Kentucky who usually have the top recruiting classes but never end up winning a national championship (Kentucky's run this year was quite impressive, though) and most of those recruits end up leaving when their freshman year is done. Oh yeah. I am originally from Mississippi. We love our fried chicken, french fries, bacon, and bacon lard for flavoring. Absolutely not. I refuse to believe that a college professor would have that little control over his own class to the point where people were taking pictures or asking for autographs during the class period. What is wrong with my BMW 328i?

I have a 99 BMW 328i Sedan automatic 154,000 miles on it. The check engine light, EML light is on. And when i drive it, it bogs it won't go over 45 mph. I got the code read it said bank 1 sensor and something with the ECM also Pedal Position Sensor Circuit, Fuel Control (Bank 1 Sensor 1). I checked all the sensors their still good no cracks I bought a new ECM still no luck. I got it diagnosed and they told me those were the problems. I fixed most of it but still can't figure it out, can anybody help?

1989 TBI 350 EGR Problems?

Here is my situation....I have a 1970 Blazer with a 1989 350 TBI Suburban engine. The engine recently started to bog down and die at stop lights after coming from full throttle. I am able to observe the EGR valve open as I push the throttle linkage, but it stays open once I release the throttle. This causes the engine to idle very rough and completely kill it self at times. I have taken the EGR and cleaned it, no GO. I have replaced the EGR module, but still the same problem. The vehicle runs fine if I plug both the EGR and EGR module with vacuum caps, but I would like to isolate the problem. Any ideas?

Hi i recently bought a Yamaha blaster and ever since i got It it had problems. I have a new one now.It starts up on the 1st or second kick everytime. College Basketball Top 25 in 2011-2012 what do you think?

Duke should honestly be behind Kentucky. Duke is bringing in Austin Rivers, Quinn Cook, and Michael Gbinije, and another Plumlee brother (which could be a curse). PLUS the deep shooters we have now. Curry and Rivers will not need a year; these players are already close friends. K will make them find their rhythm quickly. Playing as a unit is essential for him. Plus Duke still has, arguably, the best back court in the nation. Even with the loss of Irving, Duke has an amazing chance of making the elite eight.

Why is my1992 chevy Astrovan shifting hard and bogged down when warm?

Starts fine and idles a little high. acts fine until it reaches highway speed then it starts to chug and act like its short of fuel. I would guess its the fuel pump or filter but it also shifts at different speeds then when cold and I'm almost positive that I saw the voltage meter spike and jump a few times. I just bought the van and dont know much about chevy. I'm wondering if its fuel problem or wiring and electrical, or even the transmission or combination of them. Its an automatic transmission. BYU Independent Study Program?

Hi, I wanted to know how long would it take to finish a course in byu? Im a sophmore. Im planning to skip my junior year and to go on to my senior year and to do all my junior classes in byu independent studies. I was planning to take english 11, physics, us history, earth science, and algebra 2. Both parts of each course. Can it be possible to get it done within 2-3 weeks of time? My school starts in the middle week of August. I'll also be working like around 3 pm -11 pm everyday. Do you guys think it be possible? What was your guys experience? In the final exam do they let you take amount notes to use on the exam? Are their classes hard?

My 2003 ktm 125 sx cuts off power when it should be reaching the powerband?

My friend rides with me all the time and he lives across town so he leaves his own yz 125 at my house, so i know the difference between the two bikes. My ktm bogs whenever it should be hitting powerband, but my friends yz hits powerband just fine. My dad and i replaced the spark plug, cleaned the air filter and really oiled it up, and cleaned the carburetor. It runs good in the low end of a gear but when you hit the mid-high end of the gear it will make a weird sound and not go any faster then before. I bought it for 1250 a month ago and it has been doing this since i got it.

You certainly won't be operating through amateur repeaters which are 20MHz plus away from the UHF PMR band or MARS repeaters which are 15MHz+ away. UHF propagation can increase due to atmospherics such as tropospheric scatter which happens mainly in the early Summer months. You'll probably recognise the effect when good ol' analog TV had patterning or one channel on top of another. Tropo scatter can allow UHF transmissions to travel a couple of hundred miles or so. If you are far North enough to have transmitted during an Aurora your transmission range will be extended but your signal will be distorted. Not sure how it sounds on FM but an SSB speech transmission sounds like "a ghost with a sore throat" due to the way the Aurora mangles the signal.

Sounds like the steering rack came apart. The grinding sound you're hearing is the pinion gear slipping past the shaft inside the rack. That would also cause the condition you mentioned where there was no control and the car felt like it was swaying. Check the steering rack and see if the housing is broken. Have someone turn the wheel while you listen under the car (engine off) to see where the noise is coming from. My bet is the steering rack.

Morning Pre-Workout Meal? What to eat and how long to wait after?

I am going to College and recently started working out at the campus gym. I've seen really good gains (well at least I think so) in the 4 months I've been going. I like to go fairly early as I find it is not so packed. But I'm wondering, what is or are some good options for a pre-workout meal first thing in the morning? I can't seem to find the perfect balance; if I eat a lot, I feel bloated and bogged down, but if I eat too little (or a few times not at all) I feel really light headed and dizzy. So to those of you more experienced then me out there, what is a good pre-workout meal that works for you? Should I just be eating fruits and whole grains (carbs) before, or should I be consuming protein like eggs before? Also how long should I wait after I eat to hit the gym?....Sorry for the long winded question. Thanks in advance for your advice.

you just need to make sure you are eating a wide range of fruits and veggies. Think color. the more color you eat the better. Dont only eat melon or apples for more than a day. you will begin to loose nutrients if you eat the same thing everydau. you dont have to eat meat. you can get protein from this grain called quinoa. its kinda like rice but a little different. I find it at whole foods. Also, dont be afraid to indulge a little if you want meat or chocolate.

Why is my car's AC not working?

I have a 97 Jetta and my AC has not worked since I bought it a year back. I some what know how cars work, I'm an expert when it comes to brakes, suspension, minor engine tune ups such as oil chances, spark plug replacement and intake problems but I know nothing about AC systems just the main parts of them but much less about what could be wrong with mine. Im pretty sure that my system has freeon in it because a pressure guage was hooked up and it read full, Im also pretty sure that my compressor is still working because when i turn on the AC the compressor kicks on and i can feel the engine bog down as all cars do when it kicks on. I know there is an accumulator and condenser and maybe a few other parts but what could be the problem. Im so close to just taking it in to get it checked out be l have my own tools and know very well how to use them. Does anyone have any ideas to keep me out of the heat? Chevy 350 bogging after wot?

This is strange feels like its running out of fuel. I rebuilt the engine and used the old fuel pump i've had for 5 years. for the first 3,000 miles had no issue. Blew the trans and pulled it out and had it rebuilt also found a 3.73 posi ands swapped that in from the old 2.56 gears. so got it all in and drove one day all was well. the next day took it out and from 5mph i wot shifted to 2nd and then at 5,000 rpm it bogged still ran but hit a brick wall felt like it ran outta fuel. i shift at 6k btw, full edelbrock performer rpm set heads intake cam 9.5:1 compression. so i bought a new stock replacement fuel pump. no change does the same thing. it seems to happen after about 6 seconds of wot. if im doin 40mph and shift into second she pull pull to 6k then i shift into 3rd and it will bog in third at about 4200rpm. if i wot from 2500rpm in third it will start to bog at 4500ish rpm. this really felt like a fuel issue but why would i have an issue only now? i ran this engine for 30k miles before the rebuild with the old stock pump and have changed to a th350 instead of a t-5 and am running an edelbrock 750cfm now instead of a 650cfm (which is too big but whatever). also have a new distributor cap coil ignition module wires from the new rebuild. am i missing something obvious? ill buy a higher gpm pump if i have to but this just doesnt make sense. i dont have any fuel leaks.

Friendship problems, help?

So i have two friends, and in class we're known as the best friend trio. I'll be referring to them here as L and D. I was best friends with L for a year before we became friends with D; so I know L longer is friends with her more. Now, D just came into our friendship, and we let her join in...so she was our friend. But now, she keeps on being bossy, like telling us what to do, and I don't mean to sound mean, but she's turning bitchy. She gets mad when I get better grades when her when it's not my fault- isn't her grades her responsibility? Then me, being the stubborn and hot tempered person I am, would always argue with her. Then when I get a grade that isn't failing, but something below what I usually get (90-100), she would laugh and rub it in my face. When I talk to L about something she would always interrupt and get L's attention (and no, not like flirting attention lol, they're both girls) and then she would try to get in the convo. I had a fight a few months ago because she got mad that I got better grades than her and she felt that I was competitive when I'm not. True it is that I try to get good grades, but if I don't then I just accept it and try to get a higher grade. Now last Friday, I began feeling tempted to look at porn. I mainly used my iPod Touch to get material, and thankfully my mom took advantage of the restrictions settings and blocked off Safari. I jumped at his sudden appearance, then promptly went to another page. He asked what I was looking at, to which I lied and said I was reading a page on some web program. He then began questioning more, saying things like "What were you really looking at?", "Are you behaving?". I, of course, lied to him each time. I loathe the idea of lying to my parents, so this struck me pretty hard with guilt. About thirty minutes later, my mom came into the room and asked me if I was looking at porn. I lied again, and this is what really made me guilty. I feel so awful to have betrayed my parent's trust and to have lied to both of them, and have begun feeling stressed and guilty. I tried to simply repress the guilt by saying that I know what I did was bad, I'll try not to do it ever again, etc. It helped the guilt, but it certainly didn't help the stress. I've begun having minor tension-headaches (aside from my usual sinus headaches). Today, however, I started masturbating but stopped before I came. This added to the stress and guilt, and makes me feel even more self-loathing. I am considering confessing this Monday, but with it would come severe consequences that I simply wouldn't be able to bear: I'd more than likely having anything Internet-related taken away, I'd lose all trust with my mom, and I'd probably get a curfew. As much as I don't like the idea of those punishments, I will take them willingly than live on with the knowledge that I lied to my parents. I merely need reaffirmation. Should I go through with my plan and confess to my mom on Monday, or should I continue on and forget it? In my current mindset, there's really nothing to to stop me from confessing. Also, I'm 13.

Throttle problems with Suzuki DT 140?

I have a 1988 Suzuki DT 140 that I am having a problem with. The engine starts and idles fine. When I drive the boat at full throttle, it will run fine for a little while and then bogs down to a much lower speed (about half). It bogs down at different times when giving it gas, sometimes while accelerating to full speed and other times a couple minutes after being at full speed. It also bogs down after going over waves. About the engine: I bought it in March and replaced most of the gaskets. I replaced the gas but not the oil (I don't know if this could be a problem). I replaced the throttle, spark plugs, and impeller. When I ran the engine (drove it around for about 1 1/2 hours) the oil level did reduce, so I know it is mixing. I can only assume that the engine sat for a while before I bought it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I say you should just laugh and get over it, you can't do anything now, people will start joking about you and you should joke about it too, they will try and tease you. If you make fun of yourself, they won't see a reason to do it so that should help reduce the amount of embarrassment. And you could tell the principle that the teacher wouldn't let you go to the bathroom and you had no other choice, not your fault at all and if you get punished for it, that means your school is being run by morons and should be closed. 1987 suzuki gs550e stalls when i get ready to move in first gear?

i bought this bike over the weekend. the guy said it was run from time to time but never ran regular for about 5 years. i rode the bike home from where i bought it about 1 1/2 hrs away. it ran fine like a dream with no issues even on the highway doing 70. the following day i went to take it out to ride it and it started giving me problems anytime i come to a stop sign or stop like and start to come to a stop it stalls. my idle was alittle low so i moved it up a hair bc i called the bikeshop and they said to try that first. still the same issue it starts and idles up fine as soon as i try to take off it stalls now. i cant get moving at all. i ordered new plugs oil oil filter and air filter to replace them. does this sound like a gumpped up carb since it sat so long bc he filled it with premuim before i got it or does it sound like i need to adjust the clutch up by the lever?? it doesnt jump or buck or grind when i go into gear as soon as i let off the clutch that is when it starts to bog down and just stall. i read alot of different reviews with a 1000 different answers so any other insite to this bike would be great thanks

Accounting or engineering?

I considered both and chose accounting. Both are excellent choices and I would think that a female in engineering could do well. The pay is indeed very similar for both positions and there is high job satisfaction in each. I interviewed colleges and through that process I decided that accounting was for me. So, my advice is to do the same I did and to interview colleges.

I don't remember the name of the manga but i read a few chapters but the story starts with this girl and her teacher painting her. She loves him but he has no idea, so she consults with her best friend and her best friend says she should give up because he probably has someone else. She was still persistent on confessing to him,so she said for him to meet her at this place on the weekend and she'd wait until he came. She was dresses up in very mature clothes and waited but he didn't come until her parents called for help on searching for her. He found her at around 10 pm or well she waited and he showed up at 10. Anyway he was on the way of bringing her home and she confessed but he said it was bothersome to wear it so he didn't really want to but her pulled out a necklace with a ring on it and said he was engaged. What cause a 94 chevy 1500 4,3V6 not accelerate when going up hill and when trying to pass it bog downs?

I have a 94 chevy 1500 with the 4.3L V6 Auto transmission. The truck will not accelerate like something is holding it back when going up hill and when trying to pass. The engine will either mis, or bog down, or not change RPM's at all. It runs find when i first start it up and when i'm holding the brake and gas it smothers out like its not breathing and trying to cut off.

If it's your dream job - TAKE IT! Often times employers will leave the hours open, calling it more seasonal than anything, just to see how dedicated the new person is going to be. A new person that doesn't really care, obviously shows it by not caring how many hours there are and doesn't always put their best foot forward. If you go in and work, be an active team member, watch for ways to make a few good suggestions after a while (not immediately) and you are always dependable - they might come up with the full-time position quicker than you think. Until then, work any part-time job you can find to make up the difference with the food, rent, and expenses. But, keep in mind which one of the two jobs is your primary goal. Yamaha Blaster Problems?

Hi i recently bought a Yamaha blaster and ever since i got It it had problems. I have a new one now.It starts up on the 1st or second kick everytime. So while in netural the stator starts speeding up realllyy fast so i quickly put it in first gear idnk if thats the problem but keep reading so while riding it rides terrific. but after 2 minutes into riding to engine bogs down and shuts off. Well, first off, I applaud you for your conversion to agnosticism, I myself am an empirical agnostic. Secondly, I don't know the specific place you're going to, but I do know a little about the general region, and I would guess that you're safe. If you are to go about insulting Mormons or anything like that, you would obviously have to deal with serious backlash, but as long as you're amicable, I don't foresee any troubles arising with the people there. I know a Mormon family from the region, and they are very friendly to people of different faiths. I wouldn't expect them to, say, be holding their breaths to see you in heaven, but you are fairly safe from discrimination. I want to try out for BYU rugby but im worried about one thing...?

hey guys! i am a college level rugby union player. up at college, i only play for my local city club team in idaho but we play different university and club teams. i am 18 years old, i am 5 feet 7 inches, 160 pounds, i play hook (and sometimes wing) i have lots of muscle, i am decently fast (but not quite the fastest guy on my team) great endurance, excellent tackler, and i have a year of rugby experience. i want to take rugby to the next level in about 2-3 years by trying out for the BYU rugby team but there's one thing that really worries me: i know that i have the skills for rugby but i am very afraid of BYU rugby coaches cutting me for just being short. I know for sure to keep on improving speed but in addition to that, should i also bulk up like a bodybuilder for more weight (since i like tackling better than running the ball)? Basically, how (in any way) can i eliminate my height disadvantage? *remember that i LOVE to tackle and i would prefer to play as a forward* thanks so much guys!
